The University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears had two
players named to the Daktronics Division II All-South Region team on
Tuesday.
Senior center Genai Walker and junior guard Carone Harris were named to
the five-person second team.
Walker, from England, was the top rebounder in the Gulf South
Conference, averaging 11 rebounds per game. She was UCA second-leading
scorer at 13 points per game and recorded a GSC-high 16 double-doubles
in points and rebounds this season.
Harris, the South Region Player of the Year in 2003, led the Sugar Bears
in scoring at 14.2 points per game, and also averaged 5.8 rebounds, 4
steals and 3.7 assists per game. She was an All-American last year and
is a two-time Player of the Year in the GSC West Division.
Junior Lucresia West of Florida Southern was named the South Region
Player of the Year.
