Women's soccer picked sixth

The University of Central Arkansas women's soccer
team was
picked sixth in the Gulf South Conference preseason soccer poll released
Thursday.
UCA's Clare Koelling was named to the All-GSC team by the coaches. Koelling,
a junior defender from Tyler, Texas, was a second-team All-GSC selection
last fall.
The Bears tied for sixth place with Lincoln Memorial with 42 total points in
the coaches¹ voting. West Florida was picked first with six first-place
votes and three for second. Four-time defending champion Christian Brothers
was picked second with 74 votes.
Harding is third with 57 votes, followed by Alabama-Huntsville (55),
Montevallo (43), UCA, LMU, North Alabama (31), Ouachita Baptist (19) and
Delta State (9).
UCA opens the 2004 season with exhibitions against the Little Rock Football
Club on Aug. 16 at Farris Field (6:00) and Aug. 21 at Arkansas-Little Rock.
